Privacy policy

We do not offer any product or service on the Platform outside India, and your personal data is primarily stored and processed in India.

By visiting the Platform, providing your information, or using any product or service on it, you agree to this Privacy Policy, the Terms of Use and the applicable product or service terms, and to the laws of India, including those on data protection and privacy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

We collect personal data when you use the Platform, its services, or otherwise interact with us. This includes information you give when you sign up or use the Platform, such as your name, email address, telephone number and any information you share to prove identity or address.

Some sensitive personal data, such as bank account or card information, may be collected with your consent and in line with applicable law. You can choose not to provide information by not using a particular service or feature.

We may track your behaviour, preferences and the information you choose to provide. We analyse this on an aggregated basis. We also collect information about your transactions on the Platform and on third-party business partner platforms. When a third-party partner collects your data directly, their privacy policy applies, and we are not responsible for their practices.

We never ask for your card PIN, net-banking password or mobile-banking password. If you receive a call, email or message claiming to be from us asking for these, do not share them, and report it to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

We use personal data to provide the services you request, including sign-in, access to books you are entitled to, narration, reading progress and membership. If we use your data to market to you, you can opt out.

We also use it to help business partners handle and fulfil orders, improve your experience, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, inform you about offers, products, services and updates, detect and protect against errors, fraud and other criminal activity, enforce our terms, and conduct research and surveys. If you do not allow certain information to be used, some services may not be available to you.

We may share personal data within our group entities and affiliates so they can provide you access to their services and products. Unless you opt out, these entities may market to you as a result.

We may disclose personal data to third parties such as business partners, payment and service providers, and others where needed to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, enforce our user agreement, or prevent, detect and investigate fraud or illegal activity.

We may disclose personal and sensitive personal data to government or law enforcement agencies where required by law, or where we believe in good faith that it is reasonably necessary to respond to a legal process, enforce our terms or privacy policy, or protect the rights, property or safety of users or the public.

We adopt reasonable security practices and procedures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, loss or misuse. We use a secure server, and we follow our security guidelines whenever your information is in our possession or you access your account.

No transmission over the internet is completely secure, so some risk always remains. You are responsible for keeping your login details safe.

You can delete your account from your profile and settings. This removes the information related to your account, and you will lose access to it. We may refuse or delay deletion while a grievance, claim or other service is pending.

We keep personal data no longer than needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. We may keep data where needed to prevent fraud or abuse, or for other legitimate purposes, and we may keep anonymised data for analysis and research.

You can access, correct and update your personal data through the functions provided on the Platform.

By using the Platform or providing your information, you consent to its collection, use, storage, disclosure and processing as described here. If you give us personal data about other people, you confirm you have the authority to do so.

You consent to us, our affiliates and business partners contacting you by SMS, messaging apps, phone or email for the purposes in this policy. You can withdraw this consent by writing to our Grievance Officer at the contact details below, with "Withdrawal of consent for processing personal data" in the subject line. Withdrawal is not retrospective, and we may limit or stop services that depend on the information withdrawn.

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices. We will notify you of significant changes as required by applicable law.
